The Century Arms Zastava PAP M90NP 5.56mm is a Serbian semi-automatic pistol produced by Zastava Arms. The pistol is chambered in 9mm Luger and features a 4.5″ barrel. The PAP M90NP is a direct successor to the earlier PAP M85NP pistol.
The PAP M90NP was developed in the early 1990s as a potential replacement for the Yugoslav People’s Army’s standard-issue 9mm sidearm, the M70A.
In 1992, the Zastava Arms factory in Kragujevac began producing a new 9mm semi-automatic pistol, the PAP M85NP. The M85NP was based on the earlier M70A but featured several improvements, such as a higher capacity magazine and a more ergonomic grip. Zastava M92 ZPAP AK Pistol with Top Rail.
After the breakup of Yugoslavia, the Serbian military adopted the PAP M85NP as its standard-issue sidearm, and Zastava Arms began exporting the pistol to other countries.
In the early 2000s, Zastava Arms developed an updated version of the PAP M85NP, the PAP M90NP. The M90NP featured several improvements over the earlier model, such as a more durable finish and a higher capacity magazine.
The PAP M90NP has been adopted by many militaries and police forces worldwide and has also been popular with civilian shooters.
